Nuurstei provides a very complementary project to Ovoot, being located adjacent to the planned road to be constructed from Ovoot to Murun. It is capable of producing a high quality mid-volatile hard coking coal. Work on developing Nuurstei will resume once Ovoot is in production.

Indicative Washed Coal Specification
Coal quality analysis on core samples retrieved from Nuurstei has shown that quality hard coking coal is present, and that there is likely the ability to produce a washed product of low ash, low sulphur, high G index and good fluidity.
